We were commissioned to make 2 sets for some special builds with the agreement to make some for other builders. We thought it would be great to offer these items to other custom builders. Project was to retro fit the R nine T BMW forks to an R100 frame. (or all airhead frames)
These elegant steering clamps are cut from 6061 aluminum billet. We engineered a special machining cut on the top face that blends what we call Cross-Hatch and Feathering. ( see images of top face)
We then wrote a varying surface contour tool-path for the bottom of the upper clamp (cross-section). The idea was to lean towards a vintage look so the forks don't look out of place.
