Introduction
Early pregnancy test strips are used for the detection of pregnancy 11-15 days after fertilization of the egg. They work through the detection of human Chorionic Gonadtropin(hCG), a hormone that is secreted by the placenta at that time.
Sample Collection
- For most accurate results, use first morning urine. hCG concentration is highest at this time.
- Always use a clean plastic or glass container for sample collection (The plastic container can be purchased separately at our super w online store).
- Before testing, wait(at least 5 minutes) for the urine to reach room temperature.
Testing Procedures
- Bring the test pouch to room temperature (18-30°C) . To begin testing, open the sealed pouch by tearing along the notch.
- Holding the blue handle, immerse the test strip vertically into the urine with the white absorbent arrow end pointing towards the sample.
- Do not immerse past the MAX (maximum) line.
- Remove the strip after 3 seconds and lay the strip flat on a clean, dry, non-absorbent surface. Do not immerse for longer than 5 seconds.
- Allow 5 minutes to complete the test reaction. Positive results may be observed in as litle as 60 seconds; however, to be accurate results should be interpreted after 5 minutes. Do NOT read results after 15 minutes.
Positive:
2 color bands appear in the result window. The top is the control line, the bottom is the test line. The test line can appear lighter of darker depending on the concentration of hCG in the urine. Positive results should always be verified with a doctor.Negative:
1 color band appears in the result window. This indicates that only the sample has flowed through the test, but pregnancy has not been detected.Invalid: If no control line appears, the test was performed improperly or an error occured. Please repeat the test with a new device and follow instructions carefully.
