Silver birch

Silver birch is a deciduous, monoecious tree from the birch family.
This decorative plant originally comes from the taiga.
Mostly it occurs in Northern Europe and Asia.
In southern Europe it thrives at medium altitudes.
It usually grows 15-25 m (50-83 ft) high.
Its trunk diameter can even reach 40 cm (15.5 in).
In Spring, a juice is obtained from its trunk, from which hair tonic and birch wine are made.
Its bark can be used dried, boiled, or ground. In traditional medicine, this plant is used in a variety of ways as a remedy.
