Achocha - Inka Cucumber

Latin name: Cyclanthera pedata

The fruits are about 10 cm (4 in) long. It originated to South America.
The plants form fruits when the days become shorter, ie in autumn. Cool temperatures do not hurt the plant, but frost is not tolerated by them.
They are edible at every stage. So when they are still very young or even when the seeds are ripe inside.
Then only use the fleshy hull, the fruit is hollow anyway. Its seeds are black and look very curious, like a small coat of arms of 1 cm (0.4 in) size.
