Three Terminal Capacitors DSS6/DSS9 Series

Unlike conventional two terminal capacitors which have high residual inductance within the lead wires, thereby impeding the path of high frequency noise to ground, a three terminal capacitor forms a T-filter providing high inductance in series with the line, via two integral ferrite beads, and low inductance to ground via the bypass capacitor. Thus they provide increased attenuation with frequency over conventional decoupling capacitors

Applications include:

High frequency noise suppression for d.c. power lines
Noise suppression in digital high impedance circuits
Noise suppression in high speed digital signals (clocks etc.)
Noise suppression in video IF signals

The Microchip MCP7940M is Real-Time Clock Calendar (RTCC) that supports I²C communications. The MCP7940M includes a digital trimming circuit for accuracy which can compensate for crystal tolerance and temperature.

The MCP7940M features a multi-functional output that can be configured as an alarm output, to output a selectable frequency square wave or as a general purpose output.
