The Original Ghurka Bag, No. 15, "Keeper II" Registered Bag No. S-148. This top handle "doctor" style purse is an authentic example of the finest handmade leather gear made in Norwalk, Connecticut USA by Marley Hodgson. Marley Hodgson was the founder of the company that became Ghurka.
The "Keeper II" is a very rare vintage piece no longer being produced. The interior is finished with Marley Hodgson's traditional beige/green/black check fabric and features one zippered pocket for security. As shown in the last picture, the interior fabric has very minor (nearly undetectable) darkening on inside bottom, but no smells, tears or rips. Otherwise, this top-handle bag is in excellent used condition.
The bag measures approximately 7.5" x 10.5" x 5.25" (HxWxD). Total height with handles extended is approximately 12.25".
The quality and craftsmanship of Marley Hodgson products is legendary. This handbag represents a remarkable value at any price, but certainly at the price offered here. The most similar models currently offered on the Ghurka website well exceed retail values of $1,000.
