Cables: 

Thin Black Wire - negative power supply (5-30V DC) 

Thin Red Wire - positive power supply (5-30V DC) 

Thick Black Wire - Negative Current; Same as the Thin Black wire (-), Negative for Current and Voltage (connects to the battery negative) 

Thick White Wire - Measuring Positive Current (000 to 9.99A DC) with Thick black wire combination (connects to the load negative) 

Notes: 

You can use Power supply negative and the Load negative together, best option is to supply with isolated ground. 

If Ammeter not measuring current flow, you maybe mistake (+) and (-); Thick Black and White Wires 

Can not show negative values. Not burning if measure negative current flow.
