Cherry plum
Latin name: Prunus cerasifera
The cherry plum grows as a low, broad tree or shrub and can reach heights of 5 to 8 meters (16.5-26 ft).
The globular stone fruits have a diameter of about 2 to 3 cm (0.8-1.2 in).
The fruits ripen early, partly already in June and in July with individual maturing varieties.
The edible fruits are either yellow to cherry red or blue violet. The pulp is sweet and aromatic.
