Fully functional device with decent battery life still remaining. Screen is in excellent condition, no visible scratches or cracks. and it's 32GB model not cheaper 16GB model. Highest OS you can run on Ipad 2 is 9.3.5 so don't think you can upgrade it to the latest OS 11. you need to buy the latest Ipads to do that. Original charging cable still functions but I repaired the crack with a duct tape.
Cosmetic wise it does have dents at all 4 corners and some scratches on the back. It might still be more than enough of a device for a young children to play with. I just fully charged it and let it sit after few hours of usage. as you can see from one picture, it still has more than 80% battery remaining with 3h 42m of usage and it's been standing by for close to 200 hours. These ipads last forever.
