So why the 5th Gen iPod?

Advantages of these old iPods is twofold.

First, their electronics.  They’re actually the last generation of iPod to use the acclaimed Wolfson DAC (Digital to Analogue Converter – the chip which turns 1’s and 0’s into beautiful harmony).  If you’re an audio nerd, you might even appreciate the numbers on the device, SNR 94dB and THD 0.0034% (courtesy of this site here).  The various iPhones can’t hold a candle to it.  Plus, the 5th gen. is also (just) new enough to also support direct digital-out through the connector, so that when using them in high-quality dock’s, they work as a digital source, leaving your fancy external DAC (or AV receiver for most of us) to do the decoding using its Burr Brown DACs or whatever the marketing says is super whiz-bang!

Secondly,its an iPod “VIDEO”!  Yes, we actually use them as a video source too – saves carting DVD’s on holiday, and pretty much any tv at rented beach houses will take composite video and RCA audio input.

Knowing what I know about your workmanship, I would always choose to purchase one of your refurbished ipods versus a new one I see on ebay from time to time. --received the ipods and they are great--look great and sound even better. You really did a great job. Everything you do is first class-nice box and accessories. Although you did not ask, I sent $50 via paypal as a token of my appreciation. I left feedback and it would be nice if I could have said more, but comments are limited. My son is sending his 4th gen ipod to me to fix, but it may be more than the battery. If I can't fix it would you still consider looking at it--I am not looking for a gift--it may not even be worth repairing, but hopefully all it needs is a battery.

mmmusic704 Best Seller and Best iPod Warranty on eBay!


 Most sellers of 'Frankenstein' or supercharged refurbished iPods on eBay give a 30 day warranty or no warranty at all. That is because iTunes no longer supports some of the older models, but mmmusic704 honors any defects I sent my year old purchase back to them a second time because the hard drive was stalling, and they rebuilt a new unit for me! All around great experience!!  Had some minor technical issues with an iPod 5 I purchased earlier this year, and seller immediately responded with suggestions and assistance.  When I wasn’t able to complete the restore on my own, he had me send it back and fixed it at no charge.  Now it is working perfectly and I will never go anywhere else for custom iPod work.  A+ service and product!
