LEE Filters 100x150mm Coral 1 Hard Graduated Resin Filter

Resin filters are made from lightweight optically correct polymeric materials. This ensures they are durable, easy to handle and can be wiped clean if sprayed by the sea or sand during a shoot.

Hard graduated filters are characterised by a very sharp transition between the coated and uncoated sections of the filter. This allows the photographer to control with great precision the desired effect on composition aiding especially when the transition between two areas in the frame is particularly abrupt. It means the effect provided by the filter does not carry over to other parts of the frame where it would be undesirable.

Coral filters were developed for the movie industry to give accurate colour temperature corrections with a bit of added red. Other filters are regarded as giving neutral warmth however the coral range has a pinkish warm –up and are a popular alternative. When placed across the sky a warm soft hue is introduced, when inverted they bring tone to greenery in the foreground.

The Coral 1 is part of the Coral Light range and is the weakest in the range, the higher the number, the further the colour correction.
