The cables are hand made by our lab specialists using CANARE L-4E6S STAR QUAD CABLE and NEUTRIK / REAN GOLDPLATED RCA plugs.
This kit is intended as a replacement of the original "low quality" cables that the Thorens turntables come with from the factory.
The set of cables is aproximately 95cm long (37.5"), but if a different length is needed we can have it prepared according your your exact requirements.
The cable is finished with a nice braided sleeve secured in place with hi quality heat shrink sleeve; the NEUTRIK / REAN GOLDPLATED Connectors are on ONE SIDE ONLY, these cables will need to be soldered in place of the old ones.
The Interconnects are wired using Canare's best balanced audio cable, the L-4E6S wiche features a “Star Quad configuration”; Basically the cable cable has four conductors,
where each of the four conductors is made of forty strands of high-conductivity
copper, for an aggregate gauge of 21 AWG plus a braided shield and
cotton fillings which contribute eliminate noise while maintaning the cable
strong and flexible.
The Star Quad Configutation is specificly designed to cancel EM/RF induced
noise/ interference. Canare also uses a cross-linked polymer compound for the
insulation which means that the dielectric has a lower capacitance, resulting
in superior frequency response.
The high-density braided,
tinned-copper shield is designed to prevent spreading over time and it is made from a large number of thin copper
strands for outstanding noise rejection, super flexibility and long flex-life.
The result is superior signal transmission with the lowest possible noise.
The interconnects are wired according to a "semi-balanced" configuration; Basically the 4 cores - marked Red and black - are connected to the RCA/PHONO Plug while keeping the shield (marked green) separate.
The shield is rewired using
hi quality silicone jacked copper wire termitated with "ring" JST
connectors so that it is easier to ground them to the chassis should you choose
to do that.
The ground wires (greeen) should be connected only to the ground on the turntable ; Please note, this is an option you can decide if leaving it disconnected, depending on what sounds better on your system).
IN ADDITION we included an EXTRA GROUND WIRE which allows you to connect the TURNTABLE GROUND to the PHONO STAGE/AMP/PREAMP GROUND ; The EXTRA GROUND is rewired using
hi quality BLACK silicone jacked copper wire termitated with "ring" JST
connectors.
The Kit also includes a small nylon clamp to secure the cable to the turntable, as
sometimes the original is too brittle of too small for the purpose.
To Fit them you will need to remove
the original cables and solder the new ones using good silverbase
solder and a suitable soldering gun.
The cables are slighly larger than the originals, therefore you will need to make the necessaries modifications to the TurnTable in order to fit them.
