The 2008 American Eagle Proof Coins are truly a collector version of the official United States Mint American Eagle Silver Bullion Coins.
This Silver Proof Coin is available here in the one-ounce size. The obverse design is Adolph A. Weinman’s full-length figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the American flag, with her right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left hand. The reverse design, by United States Mint sculptor/engraver John Mercanti, features a striking heraldic eagle with shield, and olive branch in the right talon and arrows in the left talon. This 2008 American Eagle Silver Proof Coin is packaged in a blue velvet, satin-lined presentation case and accompanied by a custom-designed Certificate of Authenticity from the United State Mint and the original outer box as received from the mint.
