The brass will develop a mature and mellow patina over time. Many people love this look, but if you feel the brass is getting dirty and covered in grime then you can clean your curtain pole holders with lukewarm soapy water and a soft brush or cloth. Avoid using abrasive materials as they can scratch the surface of the brass. For a more radiant sheen, use a good quality brass polish. Alternatively, Ketchup or Brown Sauce makes a surprisingly good brass polish. Apply with a soft cloth and wipe off after about a minute. Then wash with lukewarm soapy water.
