9 out of 10 times when you've got dust on your dSLR's digital sensor (actually, on the hard glass filter which protects the CCD or CMOS sensor), the dust can easily and safely be removed without resorting to the anxiety and mess of applying cleaning fluids to the sensor. How? With a nylon brush of the appropriate size and shape.

The problem is, you can't just pick up any old brush in your local art supply store. Virtually all artist's brushes have a coating of 'sizing' on them to make them look nice and crisp in the store display.

Our CleanSkies TM  brushes come from the manufacturer with no sizing applied, ready for use on your camera. The handles of these brushes are non-conductive, and color coded/labeled for use. The black handled brush is used for cleaning the sensor, the red handled brush for cleaning the mirror box  area. Having two separate brushes allows you to dedicate one to cleaning the sensor, as there may be stray grease in the mirror box area that you don't want to inadvertantly pick up and deposit on the sensor. 

The only other thing you will need is a container of 'canned air', readily available from photo, hardware and home supply stores, to blow air through the bristles of the brushes just before use. This removes any stray dust, and applies a static charge to the brushes which helps them literally pull the dust out of your camera. *** Please note: We do NOTrecommend use of 'keyboard cleaner' electric dust blowers to charge your brushes - the air they blast out is not filtered, and as a result they are as likely to imbed dust in the brushes as they are to blow it away. 

Each brush is shipped in its own separate, heavy duty Ziploc bag, which we recommend you store them in. You should avoid touching the bristles of the brushes, but if you do accidently handle them, they are easily cleaned with a little dishwashing fluid and water, followed by air drying. Unlike the dark brown bristles of competitor's brushes, the soft, bright-white bristles of these brushes make it easy to tell visually if they are in need of a cleaning.!
