The weight of the 10mm width is approximately 42g per metre
The weight of the 16mm width is approximately 72g per metre

The tape is high grade spring steel and to cut the tape to length, we recommend using tin snips however, it is possible to 'snap' the tape by folding it fully back on itself (like you would fold a piece of paper). Once you have folded as far down as you can, you will need to push it down firmly on a hard surface and press down hard on the crease line. The steel will 'snap' in half, or you may find you have to bend it back on itself again before it comes loose completely. You can then just cut the cotton braid with ordinary scissors.

It is recommended that you put a couple of wraps of electricians type PVC insulation tape around the ends to stop the cotton fraying back before you sew it into your garment.
