Here we have an extremely rare one of a kind realistic folk art canoe.  This is known as an end of the day piece of pottery where the potter would use clay left over from the days production to craft a piece of pottery of his own creation and fire it the next day.  The potter crafted this from yellow ware clay and decorated the sides with green and brown glaze.  Measuring 7 ½” long this is in original mint condition with no damage or repairs.  This was found in upstate New York.  The potter didn’t sign it so who made this is lost to history.  This is a wonderful piece of pottery that would be cherished by the folk art or yellow ware collector.
