The 4000 series established the emergence of when TAG purchased a controlling interest in Heuer to become TAG Heuer;the most telltale sign being the newly colored design of the TAG Heuer badge/logo.

Unique only to the 4000 series, which has the green TAG portion of the logo set into the watch case, with the red Heuer portion set into the top of the, unidirectional turning, bezel; which now defines the look of vintage TAG Heuer.

Bezel: Unidirectional turning, Heuer signed, 18k plated matte stainless steel; with raised Arabic numbered indexes for diving/timing.

Bracelet: Matte finished, two-toned stainless steel.

Case: TAG signed, blasted stainless steel; 35mm wide, 38mm including crown.

Case back: TAG Heuer signed, polished stainless steel, screwdown; model number clearly visible, serial number feint.

Clasp: Brushed, TAG Heuer signed, stainless steel deployment with divers extension.

Crown: 18K plated, TAG Heuer signed, stainless steel; screw-down.

Dial: Silver dust, TAG Heuer signed, with applied, lumed indices; date aperture at 3 o'clock. One small dark spot positioned between the 10 o'clock hour marker and center pinion.

Display: Analog.

Hands: 3 gold framed; "Mercedes" hours, matchstick minutes and "lollipop" seconds with bright, non-faded lume.
