Description

Pack of 10 viable seeds of Dendrocalamus grandis – with full instructions for germination

An exceptionally rare and very large bamboo, native to Southeast Asia, growing up to 60 feet in height within its native provenance, reaching around 30-40 feet tall within temperate Europe
Clumping bamboo (non-invasive)

These ornamental bamboos have blue-to-green culms (eventually 4 inches in diameter) with attractively contrasting orange-to-yellow peeling layers.  Leaves are glossy and tough like plastic

Hardy to around -3ºC to -4ºC (25 to 27ºF), but the key is to keep the soil on the dry side during any frost

Bamboo seeds are not always available due to worldwide shortages of most species; this is because they rarely flower, sometimes only every 30 to even 100 years (called gregarious flowering) - this is why bamboo seeds are very rare
