The Brede Pram 8



These plans are for the "BREDE PRAM". A small, flat bottomed, rowing pram dinghy that can be used for fishing on the local inland water or perhaps as a tender to a larger boat. She is 7’ - 9" in length, 3’ - 10" wide and designed to be light enough to be carried by one person and transported on the roof rack of almost any car or on a small trailer. For power, an electric motor is best to keep the weight on the transom to a minimum.These plans enable you to build the hull shell with one seat.

Basic materials guide, 

2 sheets of plywood for the hull component parts plus a few lengths if wood for the trim and build frame etc. plus a minimum 3kg (3ltr) epoxy pack and additives for fillets, paint and varnish.

 

The building of this boat requires average DIY skills and a few basic tools. T

Note: Being under 2.5m these boats do not need to be certified under the UK & European Recreational Craft Directive. However, they would be Category D, SHELTERED WATERS: Designed for use on sheltered coastal waters, small bays, small lakes, rivers and canals when conditions up to and including wind force 4 and significant wave heights up to and including 0.3m may be experienced, with occasional waves of 0.5m maximum height, for example from passing vessels.
