You are bidding on a striking and in rare preservation Netherlands 15(89?) province of UTRECH standard coinage a Dutch 48 Stuivers (Lion Daalder) silver coin.
Utrecht is a province of the Netherlands. It is located in the centre of the country, bordering the Eemmeer in the north, the province of Gelderland in the east, the river Rhine and Lek in the south, the province of South Holland in the west and the province of North Holland in the north-west.
OBVERSE: Armored bust of William the Silent left, above shield with rampant lion, all breaking inner beaded circle. Legend: MO.NO.OR.TRA.15(89?) IAD.VA,ORD.HOL.
REVERSE: Rampant lion left in inner circle. Reverse Legend: CONFIDENS.DRO.NON.MOVETVR.

Size: Axis 40,0 X 40,2 mm.
"Lion" daalders were struck in Holland and other Dutch provinces until 1697 but are seldom seen, especially well struck like this example. Simultaneous with the Lion daalder (40 stuivers) was the "prince" daalder (50 stuivers), the silver ducat (48 stuivers), the three gulden (57 stuivers) and the ducaton (silver rider or 60 stuivers). The catalog does not explain why so many different large silver coins were felt to be necessary.
