Asteroids, the black and white Arcade classic from 1979, gets a 64-bit facelift with Asteroids Hyper 64 that gives you a choice of three ships, each able to fly in all directions and rated according to shield strength, firepower, thrust and rotation. You work for the Astro-Mining Corporation mining valuable ores, clearing areas of space for equipment, and providing transportation routes for members of the military and for civilians. In other words, you must fly around in (two-dimensional) space and blast everything in sight, including chunks of abandoned ships, fireball comets, enemy vessels, satellites and, of course, asteroids. When you hit a large asteroid, it breaks into smaller ones that must also be destroyed.

Along with your garden variety Classic Asteroids, which are nothing more than floating volcanic space rocks, this game also includes Mined Asteroids, Indestructible Asteroids, Crystal Asteroids, Ancient Egg Asteroids, Unstable Asteroids Radioactive Asteroids, Popcorn Ateroids, Cloaked Asteroids, and Alien Egg Asteroids that release deadly space worms when destroyed. Sixteen enemies include: Hunters, which home in on your ship and fire lasers; Kamikazes, which make high-speed suicide runs at your ship; and Standard Saucers, which fire bolts. A variety of wildcard weapons, such as mines and homing missiles, will help you turn the asteroids, enemies and other obstacles into space dust. Power-ups consist of shields, free ships and bonus points.

Up to four players can compete in the multi-player modes that include The Knockout Game, a battle to see who can get as many points as possible in order to stay in the lead, and the Color Clear Game, where players blast only those asteroids that match the color of their own ship. Only after destroying all of your own asteroids should you fire on other colors. Both multi-player games end when one ship remains. And somewhere, hidden within the six zones of play (consisting of more than 90 levels), is the original Asteroids.

N64GM014 - Developed by Rare, Ltd. and published by Nintendo of America Inc., "Diddy Kong racing" was released for the Nintendo 64 gaming system on October 31, 1997. The Diddy Kong Racing game plays more like a cross between Super Mario 64, R.C. Pro-Am and Mario Kart 64. The scenario of this game is that Wizpig, a crazy pig-like space wizard, has taken over Tiger island and closed down all the island's prized racetracks. So now it becomes your mission to recover the race tracks, defeat the various world bosses, and finally take on the evil Wizpig Porker himself. There are four levels called worlds, and you must place first on each of the level's four tracks, then race and defeat that world's boss. There are also some of your favorite characters here, such as Timber Tiger, Tiptup Turtle, the Kremling spy Krunch, Banjo, Conker, Bumper Badger and Pipsy Mouse. The Diddy Kong Racing game for 64 is structured a lot like Mario Kart 64, but takes it to the next level beyond simple racing with weapons. Diddy Kong Racing (DKR) also has an adventure mode, which features bosses, an overworld to explore, and many hidden secrets. Graphically, Diddy Kong Racing is simply a joy to behold. The visuals are colorful, there are high quality world environments, a steady frame rate throughout, the tracks are very detailed, and the landscapes appropriate. The gameplay is also outstanding, with much of the racing style like that found in Mario Kart 64. And the similarities don't stop with driving, as you can shoot other racers, pick up power-ups, and drive over power boosters to give that extra burst of speed. Diddy Kong racing also features a unique and very strategic way of powering up and using weapons. Each balloon color on the race track corresponds to a specific weapon, and collecting same-types in a row, powers up that weapon. There are different ways that you can strategically use this to your benefit. DKR is also multiplayer, where up to four players can compete in the races. But new tracks for multi-player mode can only be unlocked by playing in single player mode. There are also four battle modes of play. Overall, Diddy Kong racing is an under appreciated decent racing kart game that offers a great experience. It is highly addictive and a lot of fun for the whole family. If you are a Mario Kart Fan, chances are you will enjoy this title as much as Super mario 64 or Mario Kart 64. The working title for this game was "RC Pro-Am 64". Pre-owned. The Nintendo 64's only NFL-licensed football game for 1997-98 is the first cartridge to utilize the console's 640x480 high-resolution mode for sharp, crisp visuals moving at an estimated 30 frames per second. Players can choose from 30 NFL teams and over 1500 licensed athletes as they embark on a 16-game season, exhibition game, playoffs, or simulation. The latter features 50 historic scenarios to complete as well as an option to design new challenges. Each team's playbook features 1000 offensive plays, many of which were designed with the help of cover star Brett Favre, and 500 defensive plays. Management options include injuries, free agents, custom players, salary caps, and trades, with detailed stat tracking and roster changes saved to Controller Pak. Veteran broadcaster Marv Albert handles the play-by-play commentary while players "feel" each tackle with the Rumble Pak.
