I love to sculpt in stone. I carve with a direction or destination in mind, but I'm never really sure what it
will look like when I get there. I improvise. I look. I listen. I dig. I take chances and rely on my instincts.
Sometimes I work from a maquette or sketch and many of my smaller works could be versions of much bigger projects. But I really like to wing-it. I get inspired very easily.
I've been sculpting for 20 years off and on and I must say that marble is my favorite stone. I like the durability and resistance it offers and also texture. Saint-Marc limestone is a close second, also a quite durable and dense stone. Quarried here in Quebec.
Each one of my pieces is very carefully finished. Scraped, sanded and polished completely by hand.
I must apologize for the pictures some of them aren't the best but you will be happy to know that the sculptures look much better in person. Guaranteed!
Also provided is a letter of authenticity for every sculpture that I make and have for sale. Signed and dated.
A good idea for future reference.
Thanks for looking...
