Description

This mouthpiece was inspired by a vintage JT mouthpiece played by the Legendary Maynard Ferguson. The rim just gradually melts into the cup, making it incredibly comfortable. The cup is usually called medium shallow, but it is a convex-V from rim to throat. The entrance to the throat is open, so it yields plenty of air flow and a nice big sound. The Legends JT blank is a perfect balance: enough mass to enhance slotting with a big core, but not so much mass that the sound won't sizzle! Slotting is excellent. Although this design was inspired by a piece played by the legendary Maynard Ferguson, this is not a copy. This piece has the Legends enhanced throat (#27), throat cylinder length, and the Legends S backbore. This model is great for legit, lead, or any style of playing.

This mouthpiece is kept in stock in the JT blank, which has a smooth old-school look inspired by classic JT mouthpieces. The JT blank is a perfect mix of weight: just enough mass to enhance slotting with a big core, but not so much mass that the sound won't sizzle!
