What's on this DVD;  US Army Air Cadets of WWII

This DVD is a collection of films and newsreels on the US Army's Air Cadets of WW2. The War was raging in Europe and America knew she needed pilots and planes if we were going to be in this war, but we were very far behind everyone else. America rushed to catch up. This is part of that story. We hope you'll enjoy

1st Film; "Wings of Steel". This is a great 1941 US Army film by Warner Bros. that dramatizes the training and experience of a Army Air Cadet. The story is about a football hero that joins the Army to be a pilot. This is a Very Rare piece of history and was filmed at Chino Air Field in California. Great footage of the PT-17 Stearman, B-17 bomber, and the P-40 pursuit plane. Runtime 20:36 Min's

2nd Film; "Winning your Wings". This is a great Army film with Jimmy Stewart Narrating on how you can "win your wings" in the USAAF during WW2. Great Film and lots of different planes. Great story! Runtime 18:07 Min's

3rd Film; "Air Cadet History". This is 3 parts of USAAF Story about US Army Air cadets. From WW1 to just before WWII, America just did not want to pay to keep fully trained pilots until a war would breakout. Then, it was hurry-up and catch up. Historically worth seeing. Runtime 27:29 Min's

4th Film; "Acrobatics". This is an AAF training film on how to stay alive through Acrobatic flying. Starts off when an RAF Spitfire gets shot down by an ME-109. Why??? He did not know Acrobatics. So, this Army film shows the basic maneuvers of acrobatics by flying the PT-19 "Chipmunk". A Cadet pilot learns basic rolls and loops, etc. Runtime 18:27 Min's

5th Film; "Air Cadet Newsreels". This a collection of newsreels on Air Cadets. 1st, Attention Young Men--How to pilot or navigate a plane, 2nd, Attention Young Men--How to pilot a B-17 or be a navigator or bombardier. 3rd, Training an Army--From classroom to flying. 4th, West Point Air Cadets-- from Link trainers to AT-6's. 5th, Dallas TX, RAF Cadets train on PT-17 Stearmans. 6th, Officers and Men learn to fly--Gen Patton takes lessons. 7th, Cadets get exercise. 8th, Lancaster, CA.
