Mugwort - Qing hao 

Latin name: Artemisia annua 

In China the one-year-old mugwort under the name Qing Hao has been used for over 2000 years as a medicinal plant against malaria and parasitic infestations. 
But only since 2002 is the ingerdient "artemisinin" recognized by the WHO as an effective remedy against malaria. 
With good conditioners, Artemisia annua is about 2.50 m (8.2 ft) high and needs about 1 square meter. 
The bright green, strongly reversed leaves of the plant develop a very intense and pleasant smell, preferably in sandy soil, plenty of sun and a sufficien water supply.
