This type of air ventilator sucks air out of your vehicle - it does not blow air into it.

This is a highly economical type of wind-driven rotary roof ventilator – suitable for vans, trailers, trucks and all types of enclosed compartments. It is low profile (120mm), waterproof and silent operating. It is made of durable PVC black plastic to not rust and to reflect heat. The main shaft and holding screws are long lasting stainless steel. The bearings are pre-packed with grease and are sealed both sides for long spinning life and to keep dust and water out which usually shortens the life of most rotary air vents.

This air vent has a 'tri-vaned' air scoop design on top of it that starts spinning when an air-stream from natural wind or motion of the vehicle, activates it. This spinning then creates air suction against 8 smaller air-vanes facing the opposite direction that are located at the base of this air ventilator (similar to how a turbocharger works). Often these air vents will spin freely just from the forces of natural wind even when the vehicle it is parked and be ventilating without you driving.

Remember, with this type of ventilator, the faster you drive the faster the air will be drawn out of the vehicle. So don’t be fooled into thinking you need an air vent with more external wind-vanes or one with a larger opening than this 95mm diameter opening air vent – unless the seller can tell you the exact air flow that occurs at any particular RPM.

It is the design of the rotary vent and the speed that it is able to spin at while driving that determines the air flow. This is a sleek-stylish and compact air vent with only 200mm diameter. And it has a unique ‘air-flow-through’ tri-vane, wind design.

Installation is simple by first cutting a 95mm diameter hole in your roof (if requiring maximum ventilation). If you want less ventilation, then only drill a few 10mm to 25mm holes (within the 95mm diameter area) in your roof first instead. You can always drill bigger or more holes later for more ventilation.

To mount to your roof you will need to remove the centre bolt locknut with a 1/2” socket so that you can separate the stationary base plate from spinning air-vane. Then you will be able to drill 4 x 4.5mm holes to mount the circular base plate to your roof. Use pop rivets with washers behind them if riveting into thin metal or plastic. Or use shallow head bolts that do not stick up too far and stop the air vent spinning freely.

Note: this air vent is designed to deflect water or rain from entering through the air vent but you should seal the base of the air vent with silicone or sika-flex before installing on the vehicle

Installation instructions…

1. Pull off cap on top of main centre bolt

2. Remove the centre bolt locknut with a 1/2” socket

3. Separate the circular base plate from the upper spinning air-vane

4. Cut a 95mm diameter hole in your roof (or several smaller holes within 95mm circle)

5. Position the white, circular base plate over the 95mm hole and drill the 4 mounting holes

6. Seal the base with silicone or sika-flex and pop-rivet or bolt it on top (use large diameter washers behind the rivets or bolts if your roof is very thin for added strength)

7. Re-install the spinning air-vane, locknut and cap
