This 2001 PROOF American Eagle one-dollar coin produced at
the West Point Mint has the "W" mint mark and is one ounce of fine
Silver.
The coin is protected by a clear acrylic capsule and maroon
color presentation case and accompanied by the certificate of Authenticity from
the United State Mint and the original outer box as received from the mint.
The design is by Adolph A Weinman. It has the full-length
figure of Liberty in full stride, enveloped in folds of the flag, with her
right hand extended and branches of laurel and oak in her left.
The reverse has a Heraldic eagle with shield, an olive
branch in the right talon and arrows in the left. The reverse is by the artist
John Mercanti, Sculptor Engraver, United States Mint.
