Circa 1910 Manila "La Comercial" Hand Made Long Filler Cigar Box!

I had the distinct pleasure of being involved in the Judd Estate of Fairfield, Connecticut. The Judd family descendants have a rich history in the United States starting with the thirteen original colonies. The house was built in 1895 and was the family house of three generations, Stanley Judd, Lewis Stanley Judd, and Lewis Stanley Judd, Jr. Both Stanley Judd and his son Lewis were members of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America. Lewis served in WWI. The last family residences of the house, Lewis Stanley Judd, Jr. and his wife both worked for Remington Arms, the wife for over 45 years! It appeared that all of the Judd men definitely enjoyed their tobacco products! The house was filled with cigar boxes and tobacco tins. Most were common. However, I did find a few that I felt were interesting. One of which is this wonderful approximate 7" x 5 3/4" x 6 1/8" "La Comercial" cigar box from Manila. It held 100 "hand made long filler" cigars and is covered with various tax and import stamps and labels!

The box does desperately need a good cleaning which I will leave up to its final owner. The top is unattached and there is missing pieces in many of the covering labels and edges. Please super size the listing images to view the overall condition in detail!
