The Sinfonia II in e for sting orchestra and flute was written in 1952/53, being finished on 14 January 1953. Commissioned by the Zürcher Kammerorchestra, it is dedicated to Edmond de Stoutz. It was premiered on 4 July 1953 in Constance. With a preface in German and English.
