The history of this medieval codex begins when Princess Kristina, daughter of King Haakon HÃ¥konson of Norway begins a long journey in Europe in 1256, to marry a spanish infant, thus the King Haakon, aimed to establish trade relations with the southern Europe. Kristina begins his journey in Tonsberg, which embarks on a ship of his father, but the threat of pirates landed near Paris with a retinue of a thousand Norwegians. It is at this time, when legend has it that acquires this wonderful codex dated 1230 "Kristina psalter". The princess continued journey through France and north of Spain arrives where she married the Infante Felipe in Valladolid (1258), leave to live in Seville where four years after the princess died far from his native Norway with an immense melancholy. Her husband promised her deathbed in a church in Covarrubias (North of Spain) where he had spent the best years of his life, gets to be buried there. But his untimely death prevents it.


        700 years later, in 1958, discovered Princess Kristina of Norway tomb, and begins to rediscover the story of his journey from Norway to Spain in the middle of the thirteenth century. 
In 2011, 750 years after the promise of Infante Felipe, brother of King Alfonso X, opens the chapel of St. Olav, Norway's patron. Thus fulfilling the promise of his love husband.

        The original codex is located in Copenhagen, Denmark, and has views of the 12 months of the year and amazing texts with beautiful capital letters.
