ESTATE FRESH!

Original 1890 Souvenir Ribbon from 24th National GAR Encampment Boston!

This piece definately deserves the time and effort of a full restoration to its original glory!  At first glance we mistakenly thought that it was Odd Fellow related.  Upon closer consideration we realized that there were too many rings along the top banner.  A very close and careful inspection of the ribbon revealed that it is the souvenir ribbon of a Connecticut Civil War Veterian (Thus the nutmeg) attending the 1890 GAR national encampment in Boston!  The wording on the ribbon is extremely faded and requires close inspection to make it out.  The veterian's picture on the ribbon personalizing the souvenir is in fairly good condition.

The banner pin at the top is approximately 3" long and the ribbon is approximately 2" wide x 5 1/2" long (not including the nutmeg on the bottom).

The banner pin, ribbon, nutmeg, and applied photo are in good to very good condition considering the age.  The descriptive wording on the ribbon is extremely faded and should be carefully restored.  Please supersize the embedded images to view the condition in detail!
