EJG chandelier

A stunning French 1925-1930 art deco chandelier in nickel plated solid brass or bronze holding four panels and a small central bowl in clear frosted molded-pressed glass by the glass factory Etablissement Jean Gauthier (EJG).  The shades are unsigned but well known to be EJG. The chandelier has a height of 84,5 cm (33-1/4") and a diameter of 53 cm (20-55/63"). It is in very good condition.  The cube has a small internal line that is no crack nor damage. Thick pressed glasses often had such molding irregularities. I re-nickeled the original bronze fixture. The chandelier is newly wired. It holds 5 American standard sockets. For European countries I will place E27 ones.

Free worldwide shipping. The chandelier will be shipped in several parcels with full insurance by priority airmail.

Jean Gauthier had his first workshop at 12-14 rue Jean Robert in Paris and later expended with factories in the town of Ezanville. In the early days just after the first world war Gauthier made cameo shades that were sometimes signed Gauthier. The plants in Ezanville were opened for the production of art deco glassware in molded-pressed glass. Many art deco models are unsigned. Some are signed EJG for Etablissements Jean Gauthier. Others are signed J.Robert pseudonym for J. Gauthier based on the street name of the first workshop. In the 30s Gauthier started a line of shades done in opalescent semi-crystal, mainly cups. Some models are unsigned. Others are signed EZAN France, signature for Gauthier based on the city of the second plant.
