16" Majolica Centerpiece Pedestal Bowl

This great piece was made in Italy for Ovington's Department Store In New York between 1920 and 1928. The bowl was formed using the 16" L X 6 1/2 W X 4 1/2" H #834 mold and hand finished (Design and Paint) by one of there talented craftsmen,  to make this a ONE OF A KIND piece.  The bowl features a floral pattern surrounded bird on the main body of the bowl. But what makes this piece truly unique is the way the artist treated the handles. Instead of  using the typical lion head detail, this bowl was adorned with Gorgon heads at the handle join and a snakes underbelly as the handles. The bowl is in great antique condition with only a couple of small chips on the rim and very fine crazing on the interior of the bowl. Please check all of the pictures carefully for full details.
