Will Clark #17 1993 Cardtoons parody

WILL CLOCK is the name on the card. The name of the person parodied DOES NOT appear although, in most cases, it is very obvious.
Stated on the card is "Cardtoons is a parody and is NOT licensed by Major League Baseball Properties or Major League Baseball Players Association" and copyright "Cardtoons 1993". A lawsuit was introduced to prevent issue but Cardtoons won the right to release this as a parody under the First Amendment. Due to the suit, the set was delayed for about two years and may have suffered some lack of attention perhaps due to the baseball strike.
A very interesting production with excellent artwork and caricatures that capture the personality while spoofing their heroic image with usually gentle humor and wit. Some team names used are Crankies, Tight Sox, Dreds, Scrubs, Pathetics, and Codgers.
Parodied are current and former players as well as other baseball figures and even political types such as "Slick Willy" and "Babe Rush".

This set is listed in the Annual Beckett Almanac.
