As with a regular separating zipper, this zippers slider is raised by the pull tab to close and open the coat/jacket/vest. However, with this type of zipper below the usual looking slider there is a second slider part which has its own pull tab remaining at the bottom of the coat/jacket/vest, allowing it to then be pulled up so that you may easily bend at the waist, sit down and remain seated comfortably without separating/opening the coat/jacket/vest zipper completely.
Zipper may be shortened to exact length, by most any reasonably experienced alteration shop tailor. Therefore, this generous 26.5 inch length (measured from above the top metal, to below the bottom metal - end) is quite ample and versatile.
