Chiseled like an elite Cross Country racer and tough and wide, ready for trail action. That's the XR 361. Thanks to our exclusive PHR nipple-spoke interface which distributes the loads on a big area of the rims surface, the wall thicknesses can be kept really low to bring down the rotational mass on your bike as low as possible. Achieving a simple goal: To go elite-rider-fast.

Convinced by the robustness, DT Swiss releases the rim up to a system weight of 110 kilograms. Like all DT Swiss rims of the current program, the XR 361 29 "is also ideal for tubeless operation, requiring only a suitable tubeless band, tubeless valves and sealing milk.



Tubeless ready Wheels are designed to be tubeless ready with the use of our tubeless rim tape. The rims have been carefully engineered to feature a profile that minimizes the forces applied on the rim sidewall. This optimized rim bed yields fast tire installation, and a great tire fit, allowing for quick and trouble-free tubeless setup.

Straight pull spokes
Wheels use high precision straight pull spokes for the perfect strength to weight ratio. Stronger than conventional spokes, they are still true- and replaceable with standard tools.

 

 

Spoke positioning
The SPLINE® hub shell design and straight pull spokes allow for an optimized position of the spoke anchor points, creating a stiffer, more responsive wheel.

Spoke anchors
Due to the shape of the spoke anchors, spoke pull has only minimal effects on the bearing seats, which in turn considerably increases bearing longevity.

Secure Lock nipples
Sapim's anodized Polyax nipples are treated with a special coating to increase durability and allow for easier wheel building. The nipples have a 2 mm thread for rims with Ø 3.5 mm holes. Aluminium saves weight, compared to other materials like brass.

Sapim's patented Secure Lock technology is a locking mechanism that prevents nipples from untightening. The advantages of this easy locking system are the possibility to use them on a truing machine and that there is no loose function while truing the wheel. Highly precise and accurate machines have specifically been developed to produce this type of locking system. They ensure stable and well defined deformation on the thread and increase the nipple's torsion about 18 cNm (+/- 3 cNm).
Lacing pattern
SPLINE® hubs are optimized for their respective lacing pattern. This ensures that the spokes align with mathematical precision so that material use is minimized for the best strength to weight ratio.
