On offer: an original (i.e. not a later reproduction) and scarce map "Langley's Map of Huntingdonshire". A very rare and attractive early 19th Century map of the County, in fine original hand colour and with a decorative vignette of St Ives.

Offered framed (but can be shipped without the frame if preferred).

DATE PRINTED: 1818.

SIZE: The printed area including titles is approximately 17.5 x 28.5 cm, 7 x 11.25 inches (medium) plus margins.  The frame is approximately 42 x 22 cm,  16.5 x 12.5 inches.

ARTIST/CARTOGRAPHER/ENGRAVER: Engraved by Edward Langley and published by Langley & Belch, No. 173, High Street, Borough, London.

PROVENANCE: Published in Langley's 'New County Atlas Of England and Wales' (London: Langley & Belch, 1817/18) with a further final edition in 1820.

TYPE: Antique copper plate engraving with original hand colour.

VERSO: There is nothing printed on the reverse side, which is blank.

CONDITION: Very good. Suitable for framing. Please check the scan for any blemishes prior to making your purchase. Virtually all antiquarian maps and prints are subject to some normal ageing due to use and time which is not significant unless otherwise stated. Minor marking visible but nothing significant.

AUTHENTICITY: This is an authentic antique print, published at the date stated above. I do not offer reproductions. It is not a modern copy. The term 'original' when applied to a print means that it was printed at the first or original date of publication; it does not imply that the item is unique.

RETURNS POLICY: I offer a no questions returns policy. All I ask is that you pay return shipping and mail back to me in original condition.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION:  Langley and Belch were in partnership from 1807 to 1820, and issued their county atlas in 1818.

Currently mounted in an attractive frame which has minor damage (a few small chips to the gold paint).  If preferred, I can remove from the frame and ship separately for a lower cost than that quoted.
