Joe Knaggs learned from the best, and then perfected his own way of doing things, to arrive at what you see today. After spending some time as one of the top luthiers at PRS, Joe Knaggs decided he wanted to be building his own guitars and implementing his own vision into his designs. If you're looking for something that is timeless and classy but yet is going to turn heads with its sophisticated beauty, then this Kenai is about as good as it gets. The satin white (or cream) finish feels amazing and truly looks even better in person. It's wonderfully complemented by some gold hardware and, the piece de resistance, some tortoiseshell binding on the body and on the fretboard! As soon as we opened the case to unveil this beauty, we were very excited. The overall build quality is absolutely phenomenal, too. The neck, frets, nut, and bridge are all absolutely perfectly constructed to provide a feel that will be instantly recognizable to most players. It is no exaggeration to say this is one of the nicest feeling singlecuts we've come across here at the shop. The Seymour Duncan Seth Lover pickups are about as good as it gets in the PAF recreation world. It's that vintage humbucker tone that we all know and love so well from back in the late 50's and into the 60's. It has a distinct brightness to the sound that you don't regularly find in humbuckers. It's almost like you get the top-end spank and chime of a single-coil but with the fullness of a humbucker. The maple top also helps to add some brightness to the tone while the mahogany body and neck provide some balanced mid-range presence to go along with the warmth of the rosewood fretboard. Lots of people have created their take on this classic design... We don't know anybody that has nailed it better than Knaggs. SpecificationsBODY
