This is a Mappin & Webb silver plate shell dish.  This appears to be Victorian in age as it was made between 1880-1920.  These pieces are English having been made in London or Sheffield.  They had a special platting process known as Mappin Plate.  The plate belongs to a friend of mine who moved out of state and has been passed down through her family.  It came out of the china hutch.  It needs to be polished.  It appears to be in good condition with no dents.  There may be signs of use and wear based on age or even some plating loss but it looks and feels good to me.  It's the perfect dish to hold your keys or jewelry.  Or you could use it to hold mints or even soap.  It measures 3 3/4" x 5 1/4".  It is 1/2" deep.  It will be shipped with insurance.

Welcome to my eBay store!  I have been participating on eBay since the beginning.  I expect to get what I purchase and I deliver to a Buyer what they paid for.  I generally ship within 24 hours of payment but occasionally life gets in the way or there is a short delay in shipping.  If you have a particular need please contact me BEFORE you bid.  I only ship to your confirmed address for eBay Seller protection.  Please do not ask me to ship to another address unless you change it in your eBay account as I use eBay shipping labels.

I sell a lot of vintage items at a large discount.  I check them over with a magnifying glass and describe any material defects I see.  It is possible that I miss something now and then.  Please rely on all of the pictures provided along with the written description.  I do not do partial refunds on demand so please don’t ask.  You can always return an item, at your expense, for a refund of the original price.  Contact me through eBay messages and we’ll work something out.

If an item breaks during shipping and it is insured, Buyer agrees to work with the insurance company and cooperate with Seller for a fast resolution.  The insurance company requires information and proof of damage from both parties before they pay and Seller will not pay on a claim for an item that is insured if the Buyer does not cooperate with the insurance process.  On International Shipping I will insure the item with Ship Saver Insurance to countries they insure.  If your country is not eligible for insurance, I’m sorry but I cannot accept your bid and it will be cancelled if I cannot provide insurance.  Please contact me BEFORE bidding to determine the status as there are a few countries on the uninsurable list.

I don't always clean the vintage items because I don't want to de-value them.  I leave that to the Buyer.  I make no representations as to how they will clean up.  Please review the pictures and ask questions BEFORE bidding.  Clothing is ready to wear when shipped but you might want to clean it first.

I know you want a deal and so do I.  But please don't waste my time or yours in offering ridiculous amounts of money for items of value.  Please note that when you make an offer on an item it shows on the listing that an offer has been made.  If there are other watchers on that item they often will pay full price for the item while your offer is pending and you lose out.  It’s not a deal until both parties agree.

I pack the items so that they will arrive at your door in the same condition that they left mine as pictured in the listing.  I spend $600+ a year on packing material.  If you don't want to reimburse me $1.00 in packing material for breakable items then please don't bid on my items and then complain later in feedback or ratings.  If your item doesn't require packing material I won't charge you the fee but don't expect to buy something breakable and then have me pay more to ship to you after you bought at bargain prices.

Paypal is a great invention but occasionally it doesn't work properly.  If your item doesn't show as shipped within a couple days please contact the Seller.  The shipping calculator is a great thing but sometimes it doesn't work properly.  If you buy and check out on your own, without me sending you an invoice, then it may happen that I have to contact you for different shipping information or costs as the calculator has been off on large items.  You may have been able to purchase an item from someone living near you for lower postage but keep in mind that I am in the Southwest and shipping will be more to the Midwest and East Coast then it is to someone who lives nearer to me.  This is especially true of larger, heavier items.

Shipping is usually USPS with labels printed off eBay.  EBay provides the Buyer with tracking information so check your purchase history for the details.  I will refund extra shipping paid on items except those with flat rate shipping.  If you want to buy more than one item within a week time period let me know and if they are “like” items shipping can be combined.

I have had the privilege of trading with a great variety of people all over the world for over 14 years and I look forward to continued fun and new experiences.  I do eBay for relaxation and fun and will continue to do so as long as it remains relaxing and fun.  Thank you for your continued support and bids.
