This paperback/plush combo is adorable!  It is in very good condition I had the plush displayed, on a shelf, in my kindergarten classroom.  It was never handled by my students.  The book does have some scuffing on the front, back, and spine, due to the age of the item.  In attempting to blend in the faded areas with the rest of the cover, I used a marker on some of the scuffed areasIn doing so, it bled through onto the inside of the front/back covers.  I then used a White Out pen to cover up the marker.  This actually worked pretty well!  Though there are some issue with the cover, the pages within this book are in perfect shape!  This set is clean and comes from a smoke free home.

The book measures 6.5" x 9".  The author and illustrator are both Dr. Seuss.  The copyright is 1985 and the publisher is Scholastic.  The following is a synopsis of the plot of the book, just in case you are not familiar with it.: This book is about an eccentric tall stranger, who's a cat that wears a red and white striped hat and a red bow tie He shows up, on a rainy day, and comes into a house of two young children, Sally and her older brother, Dick.  The kids are having a very dull day and are bored, as they can't go and play outside.  Their mother is out, and when the fun-crazed Cat comes in, he reassures the kids that their mother won't mind him or his tricks!  Kids will love The Cat in the Hat's sidekicks, Thing 1 and Thing 2 and the guilt-tripping goldfish who serves as the voice of reason.  The book's colorful illustrations capture the Cat's exuberant spirit and match the rhyming text, which will definitely encourage multiple readings.  This children's book is a classic that put Dr. Seuss on the map!

If you would like pictures of the inside of the book, just let me know.  I would be more than happy to add them to my listing.

The Kohl's Cares pink fish plush measures 14".  Though it no longer has the swing tag, the "tush tag" is still attached.  The fish is made out of a pink, fuzzy, textured material.  The mouth is made out of a paler pink velour-like material.  The eyes are made of white plastic and have a black pupil, in the shape of a sideways "C".  The eyelashes are made out of black feltOn the body of the fish is a white plastic "button" that says "Official Movie Merchandise" in black and has a picture of a black and white clapperboard with the word, "Cat" printed on it in white.

As a former educator, I purchased many Dr. Seuss books for my classroom.  Both children and adults absolutely love them!  I would highly recommend them to both teachers and parents.

This combo would make a wonderful addition to a preschool, kindergarten, or 1st grade classroom!  It would also be great to have in a household with young children!  I am hoping to find it a good home.
