Here for your consideration is a beautiful antique French 18K gold brooch or fur clip with peridote.  Nicely designed with a domed lattice back and webbed feet.  The rear clasp swings open to a 90 degree angle and closes nicely.  The hinge has a tension to it so that it remains open or closed when in either position.  There is also a safety bar that swings down to give the piece extra security when being worn.  The right side of the body bears two marks, one is a "eagle head" mark used in Paris between 1838 and 1847 for 18K gold.  The other mark is a diamond shaped punch (makers) mark, which shows in partial the endings of a letter (possibly "M") followed by what appears to be musical note mark and a "J".  The piece measures 2.08 inches long by 1.32 inches wide (measuring from to front webbed feet) with a height of .24 of an inch (top to bottom of the domed back).  Each peridot is 2.9 mm in diameter for a total .75 ct.  Total weight for the brooch is 10.7 grams.  A free hinged gift box is included with the purchase.  Please review the photos carefully as they are an important part of the description and ask questions.
