There's no widely distributed Judy Collins box set (as of 1997), but collectors may want to be aware of this four-LP box that Warner Special Products put together for the Book-of-the-Month club in 1981. Drawing from 13 albums, it includes much of her best '60s and '70s material, with LP sides devoted to "Beginnings," "Songs of Leonard Cohen," "Contemporary Songwriters," "Love Songs," "Protest and Prayer," and "Her Own Songs." It still manages to miss some of her best tracks -- most notably, her cover of Richard Farina's "Hard Lovin' Loser," one of her best '60s rock performances. There's a booklet too, but the photos and essays aren't anything special.
