Selling here is a first edition of Henry Green's English translation of Grimaldi's 'Funeral Oration', published in London for the Holbein Society, 1871. Text in English and with photo-litho facsimile of the original text from 1550 in Latin.
8vo, bound in original publisher's brown blindstamped cloth, brown endpapers, page edge rough trimmed.
The book measures 12cm by 15cm.
The contents are complete, meeting collation: viii, 11, [1], 22pp, English text followed by unpaginated photo-litho facsimile of the original in Latin (with own titlepage), one engraved plate before the preface and other vignettes throughout.
Condition: The binding is firm and in very good condition, some minor shelfwear only, spine ends and corners a bit frayed. Textblock is firm, contents in good, clean condition, occasional marginal foxing to page egdes, some fraying to page edges. Overall a very good copy of this work.
