Up for sale is a great, original ANTIQUE ENGRAVING  - FARM RESIDENCE OF JOSHUA D. MILLER, ESQ. GERMAN TOWNSHIP - ST. JOSEPH COUNTY, INDIANA. 

It measures approximately 17 x 14 inches, including the border area.  On the reverse side is some information on the history of St. Joseph County.  There are some holes and tears across the top border from where it was originally bound.

This engraving is from "AN ILLUSTRATED HISTORICAL ATLAS OF INDIANA" - St. Joseph County, Compiled Drawn & Published from Personal Examinations & Surveys by HIGGINS BELDEN & CO. Chicago - 1875.

Engravings this early and showing this much detail are a great piece of history!  

 

Engraving is generally in Good Condition. Some age related browning and toning and some spotting and stains. It has some small tears, creases, wrinkles and chips around the edges, but they do not affect the engraving  Some creases, as well - tears in the corners.  Some other dings here and there.  

This would be a great addition to any collection and will look very nice when framed!  

Please note that while I have included a picture of the Title Page of the Atlas that this engraving was taken from, it is NOT included in the sale, as it is a reference piece to determine authenticity for the other maps and engravings.  I would be happy to include a copy if requested.
