Elegant late 18th century Chinese export porcelain tea bowl and saucer. Elaborate central cartouche with "WSW" monogram, ribbons and garland on both pieces. The central oval is framed by a carefully executed greek key border, and there are three medallions that support the swagged chains. The serpentine border is decorated in garlands anchored by stylized wreaths. The saucer measure 6" wide and is 1.25" high at the rim. The cup is just under 3.5" wide and is 2" high.
The cup has very little to no wear to the painting, aside from the high peaks on the rim. There are two small nicks, and a tight 1.25" long hairline that runs downward from the rim. The saucer has the same light wear to the rim's gilding, and a very light spider crack on the underside that does not show through to the front. Both the cup and saucer still have nice delicate rings when tapped.
