These educational Post-its were made by 3M. They promote fun learning and are designed to help prepare children for reading readiness by teaching capital and lowercase letter identification, letter sound recognition, and vocabulary. These sticky notes offer visual guides as children learn. They are recommended for children ages 5-7.
This set consists of 27 preprinted, yellow Post-it notes with black pairs of capital and lowercase partner letters and outlined pictures (80 printed and 1 blank). I love how the letters are presented on ruled lines, so children see how they should be written on guidelines. The Post-its measure 4" x 3". As mentioned above, as a way to store and organize these, I have them on laminated construction paper to which they stick and remove easily.
There are plenty of activities that you could do with this alphabet Post-it notes set. A letter or sound could be given, and a child would have to point to it or could take it off the "board" (laminated sheet). A word could be given, and a child would have to find the Post-it that shows the beginning sound. The sticky notes could be put on objects to indicate their beginning sound. All of the Post-its could be taken off of the "boards" and children then have to put them back on in alphabet order. Later on, a word could be given, and a child would have to find the Post-It which shows the final sound. Or, the sticky notes could be put on objects to indicate their ending sound.
These 3M sight word Post-its are rare and very hard to find since they stopped making them! I have not seen any others currently selling online!
This set would make a wonderful addition to a preschool or kindergarten classroom! It would also be great to have in a household with young children! I am hoping to find it a good home.
