Up for sale is a great, colored ANTIQUE MAP OF THE COUNTIES OF PETERBORO, VICTORIA, NORTHUMBERLAND AND DURHAM - PROVINCE OF ONTARIO / CANADA - 1876.

It is a very detailed map, measuring approximately 17 x 26 inches, including the border area. On the reverse side is a map of THE COUNTIES OF LINCOLN AND WELLAND AND THE COUNTY OF BRUCE, PROVINCE OF ONTARIO (THERE IS SOME PENCIL WRITING ON THIS SIDE).

It is from the "TACKABURY'S ATLAS OF THE DOMINION OF CANADA".  Drawn, Compiled and Edited by H. F. Walling, C.E. - Late Professor of Civil Engineering in Lafayette, College, PA - Published by George N. Tackabury - Montreal, Toronto and London - 1876.

Maps this early and showing this much detail are a great piece of history!  The map has fantastic coloring to it.  There is a crease across the middle from where it was originally bound.  

 

Map is generally in Fair- Condition. There is age related browning and toning and some spots and stains. The map has some small tears and chips around the edges.  Some other dings here and there.  Creases in the corners.  

This map would be a great addition to any collection and will look very nice when framed!  

Please note that while I have included a picture of the Title Page of the Atlas that this map was taken from, it is NOT included in the sale, as it is a reference piece to determine authenticity for the other maps.  I would be happy to include a copy if requested.
