This is a replica hotel room key fob for The Overlook Hotel, which featured in the film

'The Shining' staring Jack Nicholson. The tag is for room 237,

which is the room which featured in the film.

If you would like room 217 instead, either purchase through the dedicated listing

for that room number or simply add a note to seller through

Paypal and we will engrave it with 217 instead.

One side is engraved with the address of the hotel and the other side

is engraved with the room number and 'red rum'

The dimensions of the key fob are 100mm x 35mm (approx 4" x  1 - 3/8") with a 4mm hole

and it is supplied with a 1" steel split ring.

 We chose this size as it looks about the same size as the one in the film and is

ideal to fit on a bunch of keys. It is big enough to be noticed but

at the same time it won't take up your whole pocket.

The key fob is manufactured from high quality 3mm hard laminate plastic.

It is very durable and is rotary engraved using one of our computerised engraving machines

in our state of the art workshop in Co Fermanagh, Northern Ireland.

CONSPIRACY THEORY

Stanley Kubrick directed The Shining. He is also unofficially believed to be the person who was tasked to fake the footage of the moon landings and sworn to secrecy. In the Stephen King book The Shining, the room that should not be entered is room 217, but in Kubricks film it's room 237 -  the moon coincidentally is 237,000 miles from earth.
On the key ring, from the words 'ROOM No' you can make the words moon and room, making moon room 237. in the film room 237 is shrouded in secrecy and encounters in there must not be talked about, much like his supposed filming of the fake moon landings, some critics believe it's Kubrick's way of saying "yes I did it but I can't talk about it"!
