Laurel: (Laurus nobilis), herbaceous plant (lat.laureaceae), evergreen tree or shrub with dark-gray, coarse, tattered leaves. The flowers are two-dimensional, unobtrusive, yellow in color. Fruit: Dark blue berry.

It originates from western Asia from where it has expanded to the countries of the Mediterranean.Since ancient times, the laurel has been highly regarded as a sacred tree whose branches were bestowed on winners and poets as a mark of the greatest honor and glory.
